Carnarvon - Day 24

Fletcher: today we had a walk.  First mum and Mackenzie went to a surf shop.  Me and dad were waiting so long that we ended up having a banana and a coke.  My mum and I went to toyworld and I got a Pokémon kit.  Then we went to the park.  Then we went back to the caravan park and went in the pool.

Mackenzie: Today we went into town and had a look in the shops.  Me and Fletcher went to toyworld and  I bought a Mooshi monster packet and Fletcher got a Pokémon packet.  For lunch we got sushi and spring rolls.  After that me and Fletcher went to the park.  Then we went back to the caravan park and went in the pool.  For dinner we had meatballs

Today was our very long overdue lazy day.  We went into town and had a look around, not a heap of shops but we all managed to get something.  The kids at Toyworld of course, Dan found a mens store that stocked Kenworth & Cat gear so he walked out with 4 tops and a pair of sunnies, I had to twist his arm to buy the clothes,  he loved them and I didn't think we would see the same again so after a lot of persuasion he got them all.  He never gets anything really so it was good to find some great clothes. Ha I stand corrected - I have just been reminded on this trip he has purchased 4 hats, a singlet & another pair of sunnies-so in total 5 hats, 5 tshirts & 2 sunglasses, must remember this when I try to explain my next purchase.  Well I did ok, I got a skirt and a tshirt today.  We have brought enough clothes with us so I really don't know why we are getting more but the things we have got aren't in Melbourne so we will justify it that way!  We packed for the trip with the help of our friends "the Nicholls" clothes list.  I normally pack everyone's clothes onto the pool table at home in to outfits for a week regardless of how long we are going for, this time I took 10 outfits in total so shorts/tshirt/underwear is 1 set.  I have taken 7 for hot weather and 3 for cold weather and 1 good outfit.  I don't think the good outfit will see the light of day when you see people out for dinner in bikini tops, it really is wear what you have on.  With my trusty bucket washing machine, our clothes are being washed every few days and towels and sheets at the end of each week.  We will go through all our clothes by the end of the trip, the kids toys fit into a plastic tub and consist of lego, matchboxcars, petshops, mooshi monsters, coloring books, activity books and a few novels.  They also have an e reader, ipod & DS with them.  To be honest the computerised things are getting a go in the long car trips and the other toys aren't getting much use on the whole as they have got pools, beaches & play parks to keep them amused.  And you have never seen what 2 kids can do with a bag of clothes pegs for the washing line, lets just say they entertained themselves and us for an hour!
Anyway back to today, a look around, a swim, a tidy up of the van, toy box etc.  A chat with a few people around the park.  Mostly you get to see the same faces at each caravan park as many people are doing the same trip with varying days at each stop.  Its great to get tips from the people who have been on the road for years and try not to get too jealous of the ones who are taking a year off to do a trip.   A great lazy day in Carnarvon.
