Fletcher : Today the whole family was sick so we had to stay at the van for most of the day the only time we went out was to get some food in our bodies, we had soup.
Mackenzie: Today all the family was feeling sick. We went for a little drive and dad got some soup and I got a slushi. We watched movies.
Well as you can see from the kids blogs, today was a write off. Dan and I are both really ill now and our symptoms are mirroring each other about half an hour apart, we have been in such pain that we had to stay another day, he and I slept most of the day while the kids watched movies. I'm so glad they are older to look after themselves a bit as moving was painful, so there was limited talking from us and we only got up to take the kids to the loo. By late afternoon we headed to a truck stop we had seen yesterday for a container of home made soup as cooking wasn't going to be something we could manage. Both kids have a pain in the stomach so we got them a red slushi too as I had remembered an old wives tale from when I went to Bali, that if you had an upset tummy you should drink red cordial. I'm sure this hasn't been researched or reported in any medical journal but it was worth a try and it did actually work for them. So ok yes I know it probably did get better on its own! Well pea and ham soup is as exciting as this post is going to get as unfortunately we did nothing but rest.
