Mackenzie : Today we went to Daly Waters. Before we left we went to the We of the never never homestead. Me and mum had fruit and watched some shows on the e reader, we watched 3 episodes then we went to the Daly Waters Pub. On the way to Daly Waters we stopped at the home of the pink panther, there was a zoo in the pub, we saw lots of birds, snakes, salty, freshy and albino crocs. The albino croc was born without eyes. The pink panther was in a helicopter. At the Daly Waters pub there was bras and underpants and hats on the walls and roof, it was a bit weird. Then Fletcher and me and dad went to the pool, there were truck tubes. Dad went on my back that's how much it takes , then we had dinner.

Fletcher : Today we left Mataranka and went to Daly waters. We went to the exact replica of the never never homestead. The homestead where the movie called We of the never never was filmed. Then we left, we went to the Larrimah Pub, home of the pink panther and guess what there was a zoo out the back and it was free. The sad thing was one of the salties was born with no eyes. One of the birds made a weird sound. We saw emus, barn owls, wallabies, crocs, lizards, snakes, a chicken and puddles the goose. Then we got to Daly Waters roadhouse the place we are staying we sat around for a while then went to the Daly Waters Pub where there were hats and underwear hanging off the roof and police badges on the wall. We saw people singing. Then we went to an old prison, and you can go in the jail. When we got back we went to the pool, we went on a tyre tube and dad went on my back . After that we had dinner, I had sausages.

We packed up this morning and went to look at the homestead. It is from the film We of the Never Never, there is so much history in the town. We needed so much longer on this trip as some of these places we could stay for days and weeks, will definitely be returning when we retire. We stopped at Larrimah Pub which is the only thing in Larrimah, well a museum across the road. And we have seen some pubs on the trip but this one really has to take the cake, it is seriously a corrugated tin shed. If it was in a back yard it would be a garage or garden shed but somehow it still retains the name and license to be a pub. It was fantastic. Out the front was the pink panther lounging around having a beer and another pink panther in a helicopter over the top of the pub. Then there is the sign, free zoo on an a frame out the front. I decided to sit in the car with Bentley as I thought looking at the "zoo" would be over in a moment, well they were gone for ages. When they came back they wanted me to go in, you would not believe the animals that were out the back of this pub it was amazing. a 3mt salty croc that he has had for 10 years from a baby, so many types of birds, owls, lizards & snakes, wallabies, well I think the kids covered the animals. We gave them a donation towards the zoo to help out with maintaining the enclosures & feeding the animals, it was so great. We moved on to Daly Waters that we had heard so much about, we didn't stay at the pub caravan park as it gets really busy and we wanted a bit of space. Busy was an understatement, they were camped on top of each other and even the overflow park was full, meanwhile we had a nice grassy site with trees for shade just around the corner at the highway inn, oh and some horses, a pony and 2 massive pigs. The pub well and truly lived up to its name, the ceiling covered with bras, undies and caps and the walls covered with absolutely everything, coins, $ notes from all around the world, all kinds of badges off uniforms, car licences you name it and it was on a wall. You could spend hours just looking around in there. The beer garden had 2 guys playing, not that great a singer but really sets the mood in a country pub to have live music and we sang along so it was a good afternoon. We went around the corner to the old jail where the kids had a look and a photo. We went back to the van and the kids braved the pool, by all accounts it was freezing, I didn't even put a toe in that's how sure I was it was going to be cold.
