Welcome to our blog. For those who know me well will know that setting this blog up was more challenging than anything the next 4 months or the outback can throw at us. So now it is set up we will endeavour to keep you up to date.
So where do we start?? Well we have thought about doing an extended trip in the van for such a long time that the dream of this trip feels like it dates back to before we even met. We have talked about it for so long and done so many trips in the caravan that it seemed the perfect time in the kids lives to take the leap and really do it. The countdown probably began when Dan put his leave in and had it approved all within a week and I had a lovely friend offer to step in for me at work.........so our little dream seemed to become a reality. So began our preparations.
I will wrap up the past few weeks of what we have had done to the car & caravan:
- Tinted windows on the Pajero
- Van service, bearings etc, jerry can holders fitted
- Old man emu heavy duty suspension & lift kit fitted - Greg at Smithies Outback Gear in Cranbourne - great bloke-great work
- Driving lights (with thanks to our friend Cameron who sent them down from Brisbane)
- Dual Battery system - Greg at Smithies
- A shelf unit for the back of the car to give us extra space (a very big thank you to Darren for an amazing job)
Which brings us to today which saw the car have a new set of Cooper Tyres fitted & new brake pads.
